California Grown Dragonfruit Cuttings - Halley's Comet Variety
π§βπΎ Notes from Farmers Leo and Lucky
Halley's Comet is one of those varieties that just earns its place in a collection, mostly because it's so easy to get along with. If you want a plant that produces without a lot of hand-holding, this is a good one to start with.
π± Growing it
It establishes quickly, builds structure fast, and once it gets going it keeps climbing and branching without stalling out on you. It roots easily and pushes new growth quickly, so you won't be left wondering whether it took.
π The fruit
You get bright magenta flesh with a flavor that leans into red berries, think raspberry with a bit of light strawberry and a soft tropical note underneath. It's smooth and juicy, and when you let it fully ripen on the plant it usually comes in around 16 to 20 brix, so it's genuinely sweet rather than watery like most store-bought fruit.
π Taste
Bright and berry-forward, mostly raspberry with a touch of strawberry, balanced by a light tropical note underneath.
π¦ What you get
A healthy 16 to 24 inch cutting, grown outdoors here in California. One thing to plan for: it needs a pollinator partner to set fruit, so pair it with another compatible variety and you'll get the best production out of it. It ships straight from our rows in Fallbrook β no distributor, no warehouse layover.
π Shipping
Everything ships UPS Ground.
An easygoing grower that rewards you without much fuss.
